Generation IT
Generation by McKinsey Social Initiative offers a fast track IT Specialist training program and students receive a CompTIA A+ certification. Generation IT is a 12-week, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday, commitment. Classes are held at Innovation Depot, which is home to 105 companies - allowing students to interact daily with potential employers.

I am Bham
I am Bham offers coding bootcamps - short term, fast-track, intensive training - for Full Stack and Front End Web Development. I am Bham is a 14-week, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, commitment. Classes are held at Innovation Depot, which is home to 105 companies - allowing students to interact daily with potential employers.

Jefferson State and Lawson State Community Colleges
Innovate Birmingham provides scholarships up to $2,000 per year, up to two years, for full time enrolled students at Jefferson State Community College or Lawson State Community College who are studying Computer Science or relevant CIS certificate programs, are residents of Jefferson County, and are between the ages of 17-29.

UAB
Innovate Birmingham provides scholarships up to $2,000 per year for full time juniors and seniors at UAB majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Management Information Systems who completed their Associate's degrees at Jefferson State or Lawson State, transferred through dual enrollment, and are residents of Jefferson County.

Innovate Birmingham also offers scholarships worth up to $1,000 per year for Blazing Start Scholars who are Computer Science .

How does the application work?
People are admitted to this program on a first come first serve basis, so please fill in your information as soon as possible.

1. Submit your contact information here. Once you give us your email and phone number, we will send you all the application details and links. The email is coming from GenerationBirmingham@gmail.com and you should get it within a few minutes of submitting this form.
2. Fill out the full application. There will be a link in the email to fill out the full application. It only takes ~10 minutes, but will help give us a bit more information about you to see if you'd be a good fit for the program.
3. Take the online test. This program requires some reading and math skills, so you will need to take a 1-2 hour exam to assess your skills. Don't worry, you don't need a perfect score, this just helps us understand your current level and what support you might need.
4. After we've reviewed your application, our admissions team will contact you shortly.

Yes. You can provide "Help" to your users for any field:

1. On any page in your application, click "Customize" then "Fields". If it is a multi-table application, select the table.

2. Click the "Edit" button next to the field for which you want to add an annotation.

3. In the "Help" text input box, enter text that will assist your users, and click "Save".

Your text will appear when the user hovers over or clicks on the question mark icon next to that field on the Add Record and Edit Record pages.

    When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

    • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
    • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.
